Our Story
Fifty Years in Summerville
Founded in 1976, Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church has spent fifty years sharing God's grace in Summerville — and now we're celebrating.
Our congregation started with just a few families and has grown to include many, gathering across Summerville's original campus and our Moncks Corner campus. Fifty years of baptisms, confirmations, weddings, and worship later, we give thanks for God's faithfulness — and we look to the years ahead with our anniversary theme:
“We will tell the next generation” (Psalm 78:4).

Who We Are
A WELS Congregation
Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) — a world-wide church with congregations in all 50 states and mission work in more than 25 countries.
Our congregation and church body are solidly based on the foundation of the Bible: we believe that Jesus is our Savior and the only way to heaven, and through faith in Jesus we are united to him and to each other.
The name “Lutheran” comes from the great reformer Martin Luther. In a period of history when the Church had lost sight of its Savior and the truth of his Word, Luther boldly challenged those errors and preached Jesus Christ as Savior. We are proud to remember his work in bringing to light the truth of God's Word by using his name to identify ourselves.
